How to achieve it with a minimum investment?

Undoubtedly, since the emergence of the concept of digital transformation, this has been a trend that has improved over time with the recent situation of the pandemic. The need for change that all churches must face regardless of their size has become even more evident. Clearly, this implies a revolution in all the areas that contemplates leading a church. It also represents a challenge to the adaptability of its leaders to take advantage of the opportunities that are presented to share the message.

Today, we know that digital media is a direct communication channel between organizations, brands, and people. The church does not escape from this. Having a digital presence is extremely vital to keep connected to your congregation and the general audience that is interested in knowing more about the activities and the culture that is shared.

If your congregation is small and you consider that this is only for large churches, that is a myth, because technology is available to all those who are willing to be agents of change in the environment. You can start to build your digital presence at low cost taking into consideration these aspects:

Website Creation

A website is important since it is the territory in the digital world, the equivalent of the temple in the physical world. So, it is vital in every church. We cannot just rely on social networks because they are very changeable and we have no control over the way they are administered and managed, the rules can change at any time. We are failing if we neglect our digital premises which is a website. Social networks should serve precisely to attract and find people where they are sharing content or looking for information and capture their attention to take them to our website where we can deepen in giving them the best content, have systems that allow them to send prayer requests, and have the most detailed information about the ministry. It is important to have a page that is up to date, which can be viewed on any mobile device, since more than 90% of searches will be on these devices and it is key to take this into consideration.

Presence on Social Networks

Presence on Social Networks

Increasing the presence on these platforms and create a content plan that allows the audience to be inspired and connected through what we share is essential. There are ways to make it be seen by more people and to make them grow it is important to allocate a budget for it beginning from $1.00 per day. This will make a big difference and can help us achieve a reach of up to 10 times higher when promoting our content versus not promoting it.

Live Broadcasts

It is important to identify the position of our church according to the mission or vision that we have. It doesn't matter if our church is small or large, we should focus on tools that help us be closer to our audience and have stronger connections. One way to reach our audience and connect with them is through specialized platforms. The most used media right now are Facebook and YouTube, which are available for free for livestream and mass content. The great advantage is that people can access it from any device and at any time since the content is available on the profile or channel. You can also rely on platforms such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams to have a face-to-face with the members and thus better serve their needs, talk to them, and interact with them. It will be extremely valuable to establish strong personal connections with our members, otherwise churches with more technology and a presence in the media will be able to attract more members who will begin to follow them and consume their content.

Involve your Youth

They can be an engine for the church to have a better digital presence since they know social networks. They know how to create videos, are tech savvy, and creative. We must give them the opportunity to develop in these areas with our guidance, providing them with the necessary training and tools to help them form a team in charge of digital media.

These are some points that you should take into consideration, even if your church structure is small. We must encourage innovation in our churches from now on, there is no more time to lose. It is time to be leaders who embrace disruption to bring the good news to all possible people, using all the resources that are necessary, and adjusting our communication models to better engage with the people God has entrusted us.

Reflect, how are you responding to the virtual culture in which we find ourselves? If you have not yet established a specific plan, this is the perfect time for you to take action on how you communicate and use technology as a key instrument. There are still many people to reach for the kingdom of God, messages to share, minds to renew, and blessings to enjoy.

Let's be strong, brave, and innovative!
